Animal welfare
In the process of obtaining the alpaca fur, the animals are not killed. The skins of the alpacas are obtained by the natural death of these species. This is due to the special economic reason; simply the value of the alpaca wool is very precious for the local farmers and breeders, so we are defenders of alpacas and are against killing. We only supply Alpaca fur of animals that have died naturally.
Care of fur
For all our fur items, we recommend that you use a wire pet brush to restore the fur. Avoid wearing perfume or hairspray if this might come into direct contact with your fur as the alcohol/chemicals content can dry out the leather skin. Oils may also penetrate the fur and turn rancid.
For more serious cleaning or for when liquids have been spilt on the fur, cover the stain with talcum powder and gently but deeply rub in. Leave for an hour or two then brush away the excess. This will lift residues and dirt from the shaft and restore the fluffiness of the fur.
All of our Alpaca fur hats are supplied to us from the same factory in the village Sicuani, Peru that Lacorine source there hats. So these are the same hats that are worn by the Duchess of Cambridge.
